Susan is the Deputy Director at the Lawrence Hall of Science, and directly oversees resource development; she is responsible for business contracting, grants and contracts, marketing and communications, and retail and wholesale store operations. A critical aspect of Susan’s work is the strategic management of relationships with Hall business partners, including publishers, corporate and agency sponsors, instructional materials producers, and related organizations. For over 20 years, she has been responsible for creating and managing revenue generating agreements, with a particular focus on licensing the Hall’s curriculum, instructional materials, toys and other materials to obtain financial support to continue the Hall’s science education programs. Susan works directly with a wide range of partners, negotiating terms of agreements, stewarding performance, and resolving disputes when needed, and provides strategic consulting for development of new business plans, publications, and marketing and communications initiatives across the Hall. Prior to her current role, Susan held a variety of increasingly responsible positions in fundraising, corporate and foundation relations, business development, museum administration and strategic planning. Susan received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
